How can it help my baby?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle and highly beneficial therapy to sooth traumatized mothers and babies. During the birth process, it is normal for the cranial bones to shift and overlap but this should not persist. If the cranial bones do not correct themselves, they can interfere with proper cranial nerve function leading to colic, breathing, swallowing, digestive or sensory-motor impairments and more. Babies can experience both emotional and physical injuries at birth. CST can address these complications as well as the effects of precipitous or prolonged labor, vacuum extraction, forceps or cesarean birth.

What to expect in a session?

Children are fully clothed and the parent or both parents are present during the session. Young children find it difficult to stay still for long periods of time so I adapt each session to the child's needs.  They are encouraged to bring something (non electronic) to keep them busy like drawing, reading a book or playing with toys.

How long is a session?

Depending on the child's needs it usually is no longer than 40 min. Children normally respond well to CST and need shorter sessions than adults.

testimonial

"I brought my two month old daughter after a recommendation due to sleep and irritability issues.
I was pleasantly surprised at how calm the environment was for me and my daughter. Evelyn was very accommodating and explained the process very well. She put both me and my daughter at great ease and gave us opportunity to ask any questions about the process. We had several sessions for my daughter and I noticed an improvement in her sleep especially after the sessions. She was sleeping for longer stretches and calmer. I would definitely recommend this service, not only is it beneficial but Evelyn conducts herself in a wonderful manner which is important for any parent bringing their baby."
